EduSpacesLearning spaces at the University of Basel

Welcome to the EduSpaces website

This site is all about teaching and learning spaces at the University of Basel, including lecture halls, seminar rooms, practice and workshop rooms, study areas, and spaces for students to study individually or in groups.

Since 2011, the Educational Technologies team of the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching has been working on developing these spaces, particularly in the context of digital transformation. Following a university-wide project on the Campus of Tomorrow, a working group was formed in 2014 with representatives from various university departments, institutions, and groups involved in designing and organizing teaching and learning spaces. This "Learning Spaces Working Group" is still active today. The Educational Technologies Team primarily collaborates with the University Library, Real Estate Portfolio Management, Campus Management, AV Media Support, Student Services, and the student representative body skuba.

More information about the Learning Spaces Working Group and its collaborations with faculty and students can be found on the Teaching and Learning Space Development page.

For digital teaching: EduTools

On the EduTools page you will find, as usual, information on digital tools that are offered and supported at the university. You are free to select suitable digital tools for your teaching - within the framework of the legal requirements - and use them in your lessons. Among the possible tools, EduTools are those that have been curated by the university for teaching independently of the subject and are generally licensed campus-wide. If you have any questions about these tools, the IT support team will be happy to help you (IT Service Desk, available at the central internal extension 7 14 11 or by email at support-its@unibas.ch).
